The happiest people…

Recently, I sat down with a friend who will be graduating at the end of the quarter. While we chatted, he told me that he was afraid he wouldn’t be happy when in his new job. He feared he wouldn’t meet people and that he would lose touch with people who have been in his life for a long time.

That conversation turned my mind toward happiness. In my life I always try to stay as positive as possible, and believe that oftentimes, remaining positive and optimistic will allow you to create your own happiness. I was reading one of my favorite blogs the other day, SmartPrettyAwkward and came across this way to be prettier:

“I think the happiest people continually create their own options and choices, and I think the unhappiest people are the ones that feel unable to do that and so they are stuck in their situation. You have to practice being proactive about finding ways to make your life better, and you might have to make changes, even if you are scared. By practicing these two things, when a bad moment does come around, you will already have a reservoir of confidence that you can trust yourself to find and execute a way to make it better.”

I think it is important to remember that no matter why you’re unhappy, whether it be a job, a relationship or a location, you always have the opportunity to change your situation. Never feel stuck. Pro-activity and a positive attitude are so important. It’s never too late to follow your dreams.

  1. This is very true! Negativity will get you nowhere good. This reminds me of one of my favorite songs It’s My Life by Bon Jovi. The lyrics say it all.

  2. Your happy and fun personality is your greatest strength!
