Here in Charleston, we woke up Monday morning and BAM, it was fall. Literally. It was 80 degrees here on Sunday and I woke up Monday to chilly fall temps. I’m not complaining too much, though, because I actually enjoy cooler temps.
Dressing for early fall can be tough, though, because it’s in the 40s when you head out to work, and can get hot in the late afternoon. Right now, I’m holding out on breaking out the tights with dresses and skirts and still maybe even daring to wear peep-toes, as it’s still getting to the mid-70s here right now. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of tights because in my opinion it seriously limits your wardrobe choices. Alas, eventually I must give in because as much as I hate wearing tights, I despise women who go bare-legged to work in the winter even more.
Here are a few tips on affordable dressing for early fall in true frugal fashionista fashion:
1. Sweater dresses + boots:
2. Wear your open-knits with pumps: I wore this look for a ‘casual’ Friday. Love a simple outfit with a statement shoe.
3. Wear a chic sweatshirt. I am all about the dressed-up sweatshirt this fall. Add some sequins and you have a dressed-up twist on an old favorite!
