Weekend in Nashville

Last weekend, Seth and I traveled to Nashville for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. It was both our first times spending any time in the city, so we really tried to make the most of our trip:

Our first stop was Ellston Place Soda Shop. A soda shop that has been open since the 1930s. I had a malt and Seth had a milkshake - both were amazing.

Our hotel was walking distance from the Parthenon, so we headed there next. Maybe not our smartest move on the 100 degree day, but it was pretty awesome to see.

We accidentally happened on Printer's Alley, so we stopped for a drink before finding some dinner. (This alley is called this because there were a number of publishing companies.)

Killer live music everywhere. Doesn't get much better.

We spent quite a bit of Saturday in East Nashville. Our first stop was Barista Parlor - a former transmission shop turned coffee shop. I had the 'Shoeless Joe' which was soda, espresso and cherry flavor with a lime garnish. Sounds weird, tasted AMAZING. This place in a must visit.

Made a lunch stop at Mas Tacos Por Favor. Don't let the long line deter you, it moves quickly and the tacos are well worth the wait.

Toured the Olive & Sinclair chocolate shop. A mom-n-pop chocolate manufacturer. Lots of samples and an awesomely unique look into how different types of chocolate and candy are made.

Marathon Automobiles was a car manufacturer from 1907-1914. This building has now been turned into a shopping area (lots of local places!) Including Antique Archaeology - the store from the show American Pickers. A must visit!

Heading out on the town for my birthday! Dress: Francesca's, Necklace: Chico's, Heels: DSW (last year).

Stopped by the Bluebird Cafe (admittedly just to take this picture). You can see there's a pretty big crowd outside - it really is as small as it looks on Nashville. Tickets sell out very quickly and we unfortunately weren't able to snag any. Next time!

Couldn't leave Nashville without a new pair of boots. :)

We had an amazing and epic weekend – I think we’ve definitely found our new favorite long-weekend spot. We had a pretty long list of things we wanted to do and only got to about half of it. I can’t wait to go back!
