HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone! I hope you’re doing like me and curling up with a warm cup of coffee and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade right about now. It’s one of my most favorite traditions of this holiday (besides, you know, stuffing my face).
Tomorrow starts the holiday shopping season with Black Friday shopping (or maybe today, if you’re a psycho) for a good chunk of Americans, so I wanted to share my best shopping tips for making the most of the day, if you choose to venture out:
- Make a list. Tonight when you’re laying on the couch in full-on food coma mode, make a list of exactly what items you hope to purchase on Black Friday/Cyber Monday and from where. This way, you know when stores open, where the stores are physically so you can plan your stops and just how on sale each item will be. Remember most stores open early on Black Friday so you’ll probably need to get an early start.
- Think strategically. Remember certain items that don’t usually go on sale.. ie designer labels.. but they might on Black Friday – so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on those pieces. If designer items are what you’re after, Black Friday is definitely the time of year to snatch them up!
- Google! If there’s a specific item you have in mind, you should absolutely search them beyond one retail site. You never know when you’re going to find specific items on sale.
- Check sites that offer wide-ranges of products. ie- Amazon, 6pm.com and Zappos. A lot of these sites offer free shipping, and in my experience are more likely to put items on sale.
Hopefully these tips help you to make the most of your Black Friday shopping if you choose to venture out. Meanwhile, I’ll be relaxing and hopefully eating some good bites in WV with my momma!
Happy shopping, dress accordingly!
