Camel Vest

For several seasons now, I’ve been dreaming of adding a camel vest to my wardrobe, but for whatever reason never pulled the trigger. Until I came across this one at a great price point.

Oxblood off-shoulder

I came across this pretty off-shoulder top while visiting the new Gabes in Florence and despite the sheer sleeves, I knew the bordeaux color of the top would make it totally acceptable for fall.. right? Either way, I’m going for it.

Fall Style with Cincinnati Premium Outlets

As long as I can remember, I’ve been a loyal devotee of outlet malls. As a self proclaimed frugal fashionista, I love a good deal, and the Cincinnati Premium Outlets never disappoint.

Last weekend, the folks over at the Cincinnati Premium Outlets invited the ladies of Thread and I out for an exclusive blogger event – what an honor. While I love a good bargain, I’ve learned that it’s crucial to go in with some sort of idea about what you want, and how you’d style it – otherwise you’ll come out with random items that don’t go with anything you already have in your closet.

This time when I hit the outlets, I knew I wanted flannel for fall, the perfect boyfriend jean (doesn’t it feel like those are SO illusive!?) and faux leather (more on that later this week).

flannel: J.Crew Factory (on sale for under $40!) // denim: Gap Outlet  (practically identical) // booties: Guess via DSW – last year (similar here)

Now for the SUPER exciting part: Cincinnati Premium Outlets doesn’t want you to miss out on the deals, so one lucky Thread winner can win a $250 gift card to a Simon Outlet near them! Here’s how to enter:

1. Follow both @threadcincinnati and @cincinnati_po on Instagram (We’ll be checking to make sure!)

2. Post your favorite outlet or bargain find to Instagram using the hashtag#cincysimonspree and tagging @threadcincinnati and @cincinnati_po

3. Submit your photo by next Wednesday, November 2 at 11:59 PM EST to be considered.

It can be a flat lay of your favorite piece(s) or a picture of you modeling it!

An evening at Sia Spa

A few weeks ago, the ladies of Thread Cincinnati and I were invited to Sia Spa for an evening of pampering.

I got a mini-pedi and a blowout and it was FANtastic. The ladies who work there are SO nice, and they are incredibly knowledgeable. I was lucky enough to win a $500 spa day during the event and got to go back for a massage, dermaplane facial, mani/pedi and (my first! – don’t judge) brow waxing.

The facial and wax were in my opinion the best part. With a dermaplane facial, they actually use a scalpel to remove all the hairs on your face. It did WONDERS for my skin. I’m still seeing the effects several weeks later.

I’m also now a firm believer in frequent brow waxing by someone who actually knows what they’re doing (not just doing it on my own…).

I can’t recommend Sia Spa enough – you’ve got to check it out. They’re conveniently located in Kenwood, so you can have a shopping and spa day.

I felt like a full on beauty queen after my first blowout – I couldn’t get enough of how good my hair looked!

Start Wearing Purple, Wearing Purple…

There’s nothing I love more right now than a swingy dress. There’s a TON of versatility in them – I have them in every style from Tshirt, sleeveless to long-sleeved. You can wear them year round – throw a blazer or jacket over it with heels, wear it with booties, throw on some tights – the options are legitimately endless.

Beach Ready – Pom Sandals

When it comes to dressing for the beach, I tend to find myself reaching for a few things: bright colors and hats. Ya’ll know I’m not a huge hat wearer, but when it comes to being at the beach, all bets are off.

I had my eye on a pair of these sandals for a LONG time, but couldn’t find a pair that were realistically affordable. When I saw Make Me Chic had a pair that was UNDER $30, I had to have them.

Dress & Hat: H&M, Belt: Target, Sandals: Make Me Chic c/o

Dress & Hat: H&M (both purchased last year), Belt: Target, Sunnies: Betsey Johnson via Marshall’s, Sandals: Make Me Chic c/o

I knew I wanted to wear these shoes with something neutral, since they make such a statement, and what better way to go beach-chic than a white shirtdress?

I’m so excited to take these pretties for a spin at the beach – some content I can’t wait to share with you when I get back!

Summer Brights

Another day, another fun summer dress. I promised you’d be seeing this dress again, but I was excited to style it more causally.

Ddress: Make Me Chic, Jean Jacket: F21, Necklace: Gabes, Sandals: Zara, Lip: Bite

Dress: Make Me Chic c/o, Jean Jacket: F21, Necklace: Gabes, Sandals: Zara, Lip: Bite High Pigment Pencil in ‘Velvet

At the end of this week, I’m heading to Charleston, SC/Isle of Palms for a week at the beach, and to say I’m already there in my mind is an understatement. Nothing like throwing on a jean jacket and your favorite sparkly sandals to take it from dressy to casual and add a little sass. Ya’ll know I’m all about versatility.

Does anyone else feel like getting dressed can be an expression of how you’re feeling? I definitely do. I tend toward a positive personality (most of the time..we all have our moments…) and dressing in bright colors helps me exude that. It’s been pretty grey around the Cincy area lately – so bright colors are a must to boost my mood.

What do you do when the weather is gloomy in order to boost your mood?

I’m so excited to share some different content with you coming up this week and next, and then tons of content from my vacation after that!
