Fall Style with L.L. Bean

Last week, I shared a gift guide with one of my favorite brands, L.L. Bean, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t add a few items for yourself to your cart while you’re at it? Their sweaters and flannels are those timeless items that you’ll have in your closet forever – and they’re perfect for the holidays.

More about that instant gratification? Never fear Cincinnatians, L.L. Bean just opened their first store in Cincy over at The Kenwood Collection, so you can try all these pieces on (and many more) in-person! (Head over to my L.L. Bean Gift Guide to see what else should be on your list.)

Gift Guide: For Him

It’s Friday (and it’s December, can you believe it!?) so you know what that means – it’s gift guide day! This week, I wanted to focus on someone who is so often much harder to shop for – the guys.

If your guy is anything like mine, he’s in a store once, maybe twice a year and gets everything he could need for the. whole. year. Always blows my mind. When I shop for Seth, I always try to get creative and get him things he maybe wouldn’t have thought to purchase for himself, but know he’ll love. I actually got him a bar cart & accessories a few years ago and it remains one of the best gifts I’ve given!

Here’s what I’ve got my eyes on this year:

sweater // bar accessories (under $20!)// ice bucket (under $25!!)// flannel shirt

hybrid smart watch // decatur (under $30!)// bar cart // Home Alone tee

What’s on your list for the guy in your life this season? Comment and share!

For several seasons now, I’ve been dreaming of adding a camel vest to my wardrobe, but for whatever reason never pulled the trigger. Until I came across this one at a great price point.

Button-Front Mini

We officially made it through Thanksgiving [let’s be real, Black Friday // Cyber Monday]! It was pretty chilly all weekend, and now we’re back to 60 degree temps, so I just had to share this fall look that’s perfect for these warmer days.

dsc_1634

Off-shoulder top: Forever 21 (similar) // Skirt: Target // Heels: ShoeDazzle (last year, similar here) // Lip: NARS Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Luxembourg’

I love that this lipstick matches this top perfectly. Sometimes I think matchy-matchy is a-OK! Though this particular look is obviously better for warmer weather, I am totes going to style this off-shoulder top with my favorite black skinny jeans and a black choker in cooler temps.

Gift Guide: L.L. Bean

As long as I can remember, I’ve been a fan of L.L. Bean. My love, as most other 90s kids, started with their monogramed backpacks in middle and high school (hence my love for a good monogram) and has only grown from there.

When they invited me out to the new store at Kenwood, I was so excited to see what the store had to offer, just in time for the holidays!

dsc_0032

The store has SO much to offer – everything from classic clothing (like must-have flannel and a classic fisherman’s sweater) to outdoor equipment.

I’m all about investing in classics and no one does classics better than L.L. Bean. So what’s on my wish list? Check out the perfect gifts for yourself or your family and friends! (They also offer a TON of men’s clothing as well – I’m eyeing some flannel for Seth.)

Fall’s Best Mini Skirt

It’s no secret that suede and corduroy mini skirts are everywhere this season. I love the trend, but didn’t want to necessarily break the bank on something I didn’t know would be a lasting trend. So when I came across this one at Gabes, I immediately snatched it up.

I also think this look would be perfect for Thanksgiving – classic colors and comfy but on-trend which is totally my Thanksgiving MO.

Smile Brilliant for the Holidays

There’s no doubt that the holiday season always brings the opportunity for reunions, parties, gatherings – it doesn’t stop. With each opportunity to get together with old friends and spend time with family, also come endless photo opportunities.

What will make your selfies stand out? White teeth.

I’ve always been a proponent of teeth whitening. I’ve been drinking coffee since the age of 2 (yes, you read that right) and I love my red wine, so a little teeth whitening (I’ve used Crest White Strips a few times) has been necessary, so with the holidays right around the corner, I was so excited when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their whitening trays.

dsc_1132

dsc_1124

dsc_1126

How it works: Smile Brilliant sends you everything you need in an easy kit. It comes with molds to take impressions of your upper and lower teeth, which you make and send back to them. After about a week (so quick!) your whitening trays arrive and are custom molded to your teeth.

Once your trays arrive, you fill them using syringes of whitening gel. You can use them anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours per day, depending on how much time you have. They also provide desensitizing gel to put on for about 15-30 minutes after. I only used it the first couple of times I whitened, and it helped with any sensitivity. It’s also recommended to remineralize your teeth and prevent any staining. (Check out this video which illustrates how the whole process works.)

dsc_1221

dsc_1135

dsc_1137

dsc_1272

My experience: I saw results after my first 3 uses. I tended to whiten for at least an hour each use, followed by the desensitizing gel. I definitely experienced a little teeth sensitivity at first, but it definitely calmed itself down. I also did experience a little gum redness, but that too worked itself out. Overall, Smile Brilliant was great. I love that the trays are custom, and that your trays are molded to your teeth. It’s also much less messy than a traditional white strip because the whitening gel goes right into the trays!

Gift Guide: For the girl who has everything

Since Black Friday is in just one week (seriously, still asking how we got here) I figured it was about time to accept that the holiDAZE is upon us. So, in lieu of my normal Friday Faves posts, I’ll be posting gift guides every week, each with a different focus.

This week, I wanted to share a gift guide for the bff (or sister, or coworker…) that has everything. You know her, she’s like me, the girl who just goes out and buys what she wants rather than hint at what a great gift it would make:

Success on Stilettos gift guide 2016

headband // pink sweater // business card holder

fine-knit sweater // leopard beanie // gingham cape // camel cardigan

velvet camisole // shearling-lined booties

I love curating a gift guide that I know not only would I love, but that I know my friends would love to get, too. Happy shopping! If there are any particular gift guides you’d like to see, please let me know!

In the mean time, don’t forget to check out my latest post in the ‘What to Wear to…’ series for Thanksgiving outfit inspo!
